Community Cinema materialized in June 2006 but had been looming in our minds for a while.   MYNDZ COMMUNITY aims to achieve the following through the COMMUNITY CINEMA initiative:

•    Create and prompt a thriving cinema culture that can be an instrument in the development of the local film/Media industry.
•    Showcasing independent (indie) local video and film productions
•    Take media to marginalized, remote and rural communities throughout Africa kicking of with Namibia and Kenya, with an emphasis on making media accessible to marginalized groups
•    Employing culturally relevant media to entertain and educate audiences.

The Myndz Community is not in service of delivering and sustaining information and messages relayed via Hollywood media entities.  This is part of the problem!  However, we intend to acquire and employ visual media, which celebrates, analyzes, exposes and depicts the socio-culturally relevant ideals, virtues, norms, mores and realities of Africa, the African Diaspora, People of Color and marginalized groups throughout the world.    We want to practice the science of Edutainment with the use of visual media.

Our previous attempts to establish a Community Media circuit have proven that audiences (mostly the Namibian youth) here want to be entertained, informed and educated about new and familiar things.  However, our attempts were met with logistical challenges, such as securing a consistent venue/s, provision of adequate seating for guests, equipment and obtaining media pertinent to the objectives, which we aim to promote.

With this, the Myndz Community humbly welcomes any assistance and advice that you are capable of offering in effort to support the materialisation of Community Cinema in Kenya and Namibia.
